A contemporary reinterpretation of a beloved literary character, rendered through layered gesture and expressive mark-making.

The familiar figure emerges from a dense field of colour and fragmented surface. Beneath the character lies an accumulation of earlier paintings — heart motifs, textured pigment and spontaneous drips — creating a layered visual history within the work itself.

Handwritten repetitions of the word love move across the surface like echoes, surrounding the central form and reinforcing the emotional tone of the piece.

Painted on repurposed fabric, the work carries both material history and painterly energy. The surface becomes a palimpsest of mark, memory and cultural reference.

Honey and Memory balances nostalgia with contemporary expression, transforming a recognisable symbol into a work of layered narrative and texture.
