Leah Justyce Art Gallery is on a mission to make creativity accessible for all. We are looking for passionate artists and creative professionals to mentor NDIS participants through our online art programs.

🌈 Who Can Apply

We welcome:

  • Professional artists with formal training or extensive experience

  • Creatives skilled in digital art, painting, drawing, photography, textile work, or other visual arts

  • Artists with disabilities or neurodivergence (your experience is highly valued)

  • Anyone passionate about supporting NDIS participants in building skills, independence, and confidence through art

No prior mentoring experience is required — we provide structured programs, guides, and ongoing support.


💼 Mentor Role Overview

As a mentor, your main responsibilities include:

  1. Delivering pre-designed 6-week programs to NDIS participants

  2. Guiding participants through creative exercises, providing encouragement and support

  3. Helping participants achieve NDIS-aligned goals, such as:

    • Building daily living skills through creativity

    • Developing confidence and self-expression

    • Improving communication and social participation

  4. Recording attendance and feedback for reporting purposes

  5. Adapting sessions to meet participant needs while following the program structure

Mentors do not need to design programs from scratch — our team provides structured outlines, materials lists, and session plans.


📋 How to Apply

Step 1: Submit your application

  • Your CV or resume

  • A short introduction (who you are, your art background, why you want to mentor)

  • Portfolio examples of your work

Step 2: Interview & Program Match

  • If shortlisted, you’ll be invited to a virtual interview

  • We’ll discuss which programs align with your skills and interests

Step 3: Onboarding & Compliance Checks

  • Once selected, mentors must complete required checks before delivering programs


✅ Required Certificates & Checks

To comply with NDIS regulations and ensure participant safety, all mentors must provide:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (required for all support workers/mentors)

  • Working With Children Check (WWCC) if working with participants under 18

  • Proof of identity (standard for NDIS compliance)

  • First Aid Certificate (recommended but optional depending on program type)

Support: We can guide you through the NDIS Worker Screening process, including information on costs and application steps.


🎯 What We Provide

As part of our mentor team, you will receive:

  • Structured 6-week program plans with detailed session guides

  • Materials lists for participants (we supply art materials if required)

  • Technical support for online session delivery

  • Mentor support for questions and troubleshooting

  • Opportunities to build your professional mentoring experience


⏱ Commitment & Schedule

  • Programs are 6 weeks long, with 1-hour sessions once per week

  • Mentors can choose programs that match their expertise and availability

  • Flexible scheduling for online delivery
