My Redheads Art Strikes Back Entry – A Tribute to an Australian Icon
I’m beyond excited to share that I’ve entered the Redheads “Art Strikes Back” art competition—an open call to reimagine one of Australia's most iconic brands through the power of contemporary art.
Redheads matches have been a household staple for generations, but they’re also more than just matches—they’re a symbol of boldness, fire, and resilience. For artists like me, this was an invitation to honour a cultural icon while making it entirely our own.
🔥 My Artwork Concept: The New Ms Redheads (Ember Muse)
For my entry, I created a bold, modern portrait titled Ember Muse. Drawing inspiration from classic portraiture and digital techniques, I reimagined the iconic redhead not just as a brand symbol—but as a fierce, elegant, and powerful muse.
She’s strong, she’s stylish, and she owns her fire. With vivid reds, golden tones, and a confident gaze, this artwork reflects both tradition and transformation—just like the Redheads brand itself.
🎨 Why This Entry Matters to Me
This piece is a tribute to female strength, individuality, and legacy. It was important for me to celebrate the evolution of an icon while expressing my own voice as an artist. Being part of Art Strikes Back is not just about the competition—it's about showing how art can ignite emotion, spark conversation, and connect generations.
