Join Our Team of Art Mentors

Empowering Creativity. Building Careers. Changing Lives.

Leah Justyce Art Gallery is expanding — and we’re looking for passionate and supportive artists from across Australia to join us as Art Mentors for NDIS participants.

This is a unique opportunity to turn your creative skills into a rewarding career pathway, while helping emerging artists with disabilities thrive in their own communities.

We are building a national network of Mentors to deliver one-on-one and small-group online art programs designed to support independence, confidence, and creative skill development.

🌟 What You’ll Do

As a Mentor, you will:

✅ Guide participants in creative art activities in your style or speciality
✅ Support their personal and creative goals
✅ Promote independence, communication, and confidence
✅ Create a nurturing, inclusive, and safe learning environment
✅ Provide simple progress notes after each session
✅ Work flexible hours that fit your lifestyle

You do not need therapy qualifications — this is not art therapy. It’s about strengthening practical art skills, creative expression, and connection.

💡 Why This Role Matters

Many artists with disabilities are isolated, under-supported, and miss out on creative opportunities.
Your mentorship can:

🎯 Build real skills for employment
🎯 Improve daily living capabilities
🎯 Support independence and confidence
🎯 Help them pursue their own art goals

You get to be part of a movement making the art world more inclusive — one person at a time. ❤️

💰 Pay & Hours

✔ $48 Per Session Per Participant (sessions are 1 hour plus NDIS paperwork and 5 mins session prep)
✔ Most Mentors work 1–20 sessions per week
✔ Leah Justyce Art Gallery creates programs specific to each mentor
✔ Work remotely from your own creative space

We handle invoicing, participant onboarding, communication, and scheduling — so you can focus on mentoring.

📍 Who Can Apply?

If you are an artist who is:

✅ Skilled in your artform (digital, painting, photography, sculpture, textile, etc.)
✅ Patient, kind, and supportive
✅ Confident communicating online
✅ Passionate about helping others grow

…you may be the perfect fit!

✅ Requirements

Before beginning appointments, Mentors will need

• Working With Children Check (or relevant state equivalent)
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module certificate

• ABN (to invoice us for completed sessions)
• Reliable internet connection
• NDIS Screening Check

If you don’t have these yet — we’ll guide you step-by-step.
